A Fairy Tale Garden Design with a Charming Single-Story House and an Array of Vibrant Flowers

Silvia Dekker, known as a garden designer and a mother of two boys aged 9 and 14, resides in a cozy single-story house with a vibrant fairy-tale-like garden. Silvia’s love and passion for gardening began almost 8 years ago.

Her spacious garden provides ample space for Silvia to cultivate a wide variety of flowers throughout the four seasons. When she first started gardening, Silvia planted 23 types of fruit trees, including apples, pears, cherries, plums, peaches, and walnuts. She also grew soft fruits like strawberries and raspberries.

In her initial garden, Silvia nurtured 70 different types of vegetables, taking care to understand the unique characteristics of each. Her favorites include tomatoes, pumpkins, curly kale, and rainbow chard, as they offer bountiful harvests and a variety of culinary possibilities year-round.

The garden in front of her house showcases an array of colorful and radiant flowers.

Tulips adorn the doorstep, proudly displaying their vibrant hues.

In addition to the flowers, Silvia also cultivates a range of organic fruits and vegetables.

Her garden is like an underground paradise, brimming with sunlight and blossoms.

Every nook and corner is reminiscent of a fairy tale, exuding beauty and charm.

Silvia even makes her own compost by digging pits in the garden and composting leftover vegetables and fruits.

Slugs and snails are considered the garden’s biggest foes, capable of attacking the very crops Silvia meticulously tends to.

She has employed various methods to control their population and protect her plants, ensuring they grow strong and healthy.
