Beautiful Design in Architecture: When Childhood Dreams Come to Life

Many of us, when we were young, dreamed of having a treehouse. It was the perfect place to play back then, and some still fantasize about having such a house to live in. Of course, nothing is impossible! They simply have something magical about them, and we will show you just a few that have amazed us.

In Washington, there are two such treehouses with incredible views of the beautiful nature. The owner, photographer Foster Huntington, decided in 2014 to fulfill his childhood wish and, with the help of his friends, build a treehouse for himself. The construction of the interconnected houses, connected by a 25-meter bridge, took several months. Interestingly, there is also a skate park and an outdoor jacuzzi nearby.

We also found an interesting treehouse in Gorski Kotar, in the hamlet of Lazi near the settlement of Tršće. If you are a fan of glamping vacations, then this Robinson-style accommodation might be ideal for you. The treehouse is equipped with solar power, heating, and internet connection, but if you decide on such a vacation, it is recommended to leave your mobile phones aside. It can accommodate four people, and pets are welcome too.

Another favorite of ours is the Tree Elements treehouse in Donji Nikšić. It is a rural household with its own vegetable cultivation and an eco-friendly concept that the owner purchased in 2018. In the same year, she started the construction of three modular eco-houses on trees, representing the elements from nature (Earth, Wind, Water), auxiliary buildings (Fire), and the main house, which serves as a gathering place for guests (Ether).

Thanks to architect Luciano Pia, Turin can boast one of the most unusual buildings in the world. He realized his vision and proved that people and nature can live in symbiosis. This is a space that blurs the boundaries between interior and exterior using natural materials. He designed the building 25 Verde with a combination of steel supports and trees, so the residents of the 63 apartments feel like they are living in a tree.

Everything has been carefully considered, allowing the trees to grow down the building with the asymmetrical shape of the terraces, and the small pools surrounded by 150 trees in the courtyard are an ideal place for relaxation and socializing among the residents. Each apartment has a different layout and irregular terraces that wrap around the trees. In this energy-efficient building, rainwater is collected and used to irrigate all the plants.
