A Dog Subjected to Brutal Treatment: Man Drags and Throws Her into Truck Bed
Palm Beach County, Florida – On October 9, an eyewitness came across a distressing incident where a white bulldog mix was being dragged behind a red truck traveling eastbound on Lantana Road. The dog was tethered to the pickup and helplessly spun on the asphalt, leaving chunks of her flesh on the road.
The compassionate bystander managed to get the attention of the driver, identified as 45-year-old Lisandro Arellano. Hoping that the horrifying situation was a tragic mistake, the witness confronted him when he stopped his truck.
However, Arellano’s subsequent actions were far from what anyone could fathom—heartrending and utterly appalling. The man displayed no shock, distress, or remorse. As reported by the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office, he “lifted the dog off the ground and threw her into the bed of his truck before driving away.”
Thanks to the quick thinking of the witness, who captured a photo of the truck’s license plate, the police were able to locate and arrest Arellano on charges of aggravated animal cruelty. The dog, named Blanco, was entrusted to Arellano by a family member and was handed over to animal control for necessary care. Arellano now faces two counts of animal cruelty and has been taken into custody. Jail records indicate that he was released on a $3,000 bond on Monday.
Blanco is not owned by Arellano; authorities have stated that she belongs to a family member who entrusted him with her care. Although she suffered severe lacerations, she is expected to recover.
We are petitioning for the maximum penalty against Arellano for Aggravated Animal Cruelty and Cruelty towards animals, along with a lifelong prohibition on owning animals. We firmly believe that those who abuse animals must be held accountable for their actions.
