Gothic Elegance: Unveiling Ever More, the Stylish Mini Wednesday Addams and Her Enchanting Noir World
Meet Ever More, the baby who exudes a coolness that may surpass your own. Embracing a distinct aesthetic, Ever More’s mother, Reby Hardy, 36, has adorned the infant’s nursery with shades of black and dresses her in dark Victorian clothing. As a result, online admirers have likened the little girl to a miniature incarnation of Wednesday Addams.
Born in July 2021, Ever More’s unique style was inspired by Reby’s acquisition of a Victorian cot from Facebook Marketplace. Rather than opting for a conventional pink theme, the content creator was drawn to a darker, Neo-Victorian ambiance, painting the nursery walls black and incorporating the exquisite 1894 cot.
Residing in Cameron, North Carolina, Reby clarifies, “People often assume that I designed everything around the new Wednesday program on Netflix, but her room and name were chosen years before they even began production. There are definitely style elements inspired by the Addams family, and many say that Ever More resembles a miniature Wednesday Addams.”
Reby further reveals nods to the Addams family in the nursery decor, including a replica of the original Addams family mansion on the mantel and a picture of her son dressed as baby Pubert. Explaining her deviation from a conventional pink theme, she shares, “When I found out I was having a girl after three boys, I could have gone for an extreme pink look, but I wanted something different and unique. The rest of the house follows a Neo-Victorian style, exuding opulence and richness. It all began with an antique 1864 crib from Facebook Marketplace.”
While the cot cost $375 (£307.03), the family enlisted the expertise of a carpenter to ensure it met modern safety standards. Reby, married to wrestler Matt Hardy, 48, and already a mother to three boys, admits that the prospect of having a girl initially petrified her. She shares, “I was convinced I was having another boy, and I was terrified. I cried for a week, unsure of what I would do with a girl.”
Ever More’s birth, however, transformed Reby’s apprehension into joy. On July 11, 2021, amidst a thunderstorm, she gave birth to her daughter outdoors in the pool house, fully embracing the experience. “She is the joy of my life, and I’m so happy she is here,” Reby declares. “Since she was born in the summer, I decided to have the birth outdoors, amidst the wild. She arrived during a thunderstorm, with each contraction punctuated by the roar of thunder. It was a surreal, primal experience. Even the rain ceased when she entered the world. It was a fittingly gothic moment for my baby.”
In keeping with their penchant for unconventional names, Reby and Matt contemplated several unique monikers for their other children, such as Excalibur, Sterling, Fox, Marquise, October, Quest, Linc, Aurelio, and Mars. For their daughter, they desired a name that resonated with the family’s distinctive style. Reby elaborates, “Our chosen name for a girl was always Ever, but the More part is a reference to Edgar Allan Poe. Matt’s mother passed away when he was young, and her name was Ruby More, so we wanted to incorporate her maiden name.”
Having grown up in Queens, New York, Reby embraces nonconformity as an expectation and cherishes originality. Recounting her upbringing, she shares, “I never thought twice about being different. I was raised in a gothic house
adorned with numerous antiques, featuring a Baroque style with intricately carved wood.” When Reby embarked on her first pregnancy, she approached expanding their home with a childlike imagination. “We started adding themed rooms to the house,” she explains. “One room is Minecraft-themed, while another is a vibrant pink Barbie closet. Our playroom even features a secret revolving door with a fireman’s pole leading into the movie theater.”
Ever More’s captivating story invites us to embrace individuality, celebrating the unconventional and embracing our unique identities. Through their distinctive style and commitment to personal expression, Reby and Ever More have created a captivating tale of gothic charm and unapologetic originality.
