The bird indulged in nectar and then reclined on a flower petal, experiencing a once-in-a-lifetime moment of bliss
A nature photographer based in Jalpaiguri, India captured a peculiar scene last summer: a vibrant red sunbird bathing on a dew-covered flower. He was amazed by the sight.
Rahul Singh, a 28-year-old professional engineer, is passionate about nature photography. In August 2020, he visited Cooch Behar where he witnessed a stunning spectacle.
It was in the morning when Rahul observed the sunbird feeding on flower nectar from a banana flower.
“Everything was proceeding as usual, but suddenly I was taken aback,” Rahul told The Epoch Times. “The crimson bird began bathing in the droplets on the banana flower petals after the early morning drizzle.”
Enchanted by the fairy tale-like scene, Rahul turned his camera lens towards the bird, focused, clicked, and held the shutter button, capturing the radiant photos below:
“This truly is a once-in-a-lifetime moment,” Rahul said. “It’s amazing how nature can surprise us in such ways.”
“When we deeply observe nature, we realize that God is a great artist, and everything is interconnected. We just need to protect it and grow together.”
He has been photographing nature for six years, capturing authentic moments of elephants, deer, rhinos, wild dogs, and monkeys. However, this particular sunbird left a lasting impression on him.
Rahul later shared the photos on his Instagram, stating, “A female Crimson Sunbird used the water droplets on the banana flower petal as a bathing spot, as if nature created a flower-filled bathtub for her.”
The images garnered thousands of views from internet users, who were moved by the perfect and pure moment captured.
