Messi’s Possible Absence Leaves Fans Wondering for Inter Miami’s Starting Lineup on July 19

As the highly anticipated MLS All-Star game against Arsenal approaches on July 20, fans eagerly await the announcement of the starting lineup. However, one name that may be notably missing from the roster is none other than Lionel Messi.

Wayne Rooney, former Manchester United player and current coach, recently revealed two new players selected for the MLS All-Star team. Despite the excitement surrounding the event, Rooney faced limitations in choosing Messi for the lineup.

Inter Miami Club and the MLS have confirmed that Messi’s debut is scheduled for July 16. The Argentine superstar has completed all the necessary contract and registration procedures, and fans have been eagerly anticipating his first appearance with the new team, starting from July 21.

Unfortunately, due to tight regulations and scheduling conflicts, Messi will be unable to participate in the MLS All-Star squad against Arsenal. The proximity of Inter Miami’s debut match against an English Premier League team makes it impossible for Messi to join the All-Star lineup.

While fans and media had anticipated Messi’s inclusion in the shortlist of players voted by American fans, media, and players, his absence is a disappointment. Despite being a marquee player and a fan favorite, the regulations and debut schedule prevent him from taking part in this prestigious event.

Wayne Rooney, who was selected as the coach of the MLS All-Star team, had the opportunity to choose 14 players. However, even with two additional slots, he was unable to select Messi. Instead, Rooney added New England Revolution midfielder Carles Gil and Philadelphia Union midfielder Jakob Glesnes to the squad.

The remaining two players, Kei Kamara and Mathieu Choinere, were selected by MLS Commissioner Mr. Don Garber.

In addition to Messi, this year’s MLS All-Star team will also miss other notable stars such as Carlos Vela, Josef Martinez, Lorenzo Insigne, Xherdan Shaqiri, and Federico Bernardeschi. On the other hand, Arsenal has recently welcomed attacking midfielder Kai Havertz while bidding farewell to Granit Xhaka.

The friendly match between the MLS All-Star team and Arsenal FC is set to take place at DC United’s Audi Stadium at 7:30 am on July 19. Despite Messi’s absence, fans can still expect an exciting and competitive encounter between two talented teams.
