Sadio Mane is about to become Ronaldo’s teammate.
Forward Sadio Mane has accepted personal negotiations to join Al Nassr FC after being forced out by Bayern Munich.
Bayern no longer wants to keep Mane after just one season, so he had to reluctantly leave. Al Nassr is eager to recruit the Senegalese star and has begun negotiations with Mane regarding the contract terms. Once both parties reach an agreement, the Saudi Arabian club can negotiate the transfer fee with Bayern. Mane still has two years left on his contract, but his price might not be high as Bayern wants to sell.
Mane joined Bayern in the summer of 2022 but only managed to score 12 goals in 38 matches last season. In many crucial games, he was even left out of the starting lineup. On April 13, 2023, Mane even punched his teammate Leroy Sane after a loss to Manchester City in the Champions League quarter-finals. Both players apologize, but the German media believe that Mane no longer has a chance to redeem himself at Bayern.
Al Nassr recently signed midfielder Marcelo Brozovic from Inter for $20 million but still wants to add another star to complement Cristiano Ronaldo. They missed out on attacking player Moussa Diaby, who went to Aston Villa. Al Nassr also considered recruiting defender Alex Telles from Manchester United, and both sides had a verbal agreement, but ultimately, the Saudi League club changed their decision.
Mane reached the pinnacle of his career with Liverpool, winning the Champions League in 2019 and the Premier League in 2020. He was named four times in the Premier League’s Best XI, including the Golden Boot award for the 2018-2019 season. He is expected to form a formidable attacking trio with Ronaldo and Anderson Talisca at Al Nassr next season.
