PSG sets €250 million price for Mbappe, breaking the transfer record

PSG has received an extraordinary offer from a Saudi Arabian giant for the Kylian Mbappe deal, and this has prompted PSG to raise the price for Real Madrid.

In the summer of 2021, PSG, Kylian Mbappe, and Real Madrid were in a similar situation. Mbappe had only one year left on his contract and had no plans to extend with PSG. Real Madrid made an offer of €180 million, but ultimately PSG refused, and Mbappe surprisingly extended his contract.

Two years later, the situation has changed. However, this time, it’s not just Real Madrid involved. Enter Al Hilal, throwing in a massive financial offer.

The Saudi football giant is willing to pay PSG €300 million just for one year of Mbappe’s contract. Moreover, Al Hilal is ready to spend €700 million in wages for Mbappe for just one year.

The madness of Al Hilal lies in the fact that after spending a billion euros, they are willing to let Mbappe join Real Madrid for free in the summer of 2024. Saudi Arabia is willing to spend a billion euros just for one year of Mbappe’s football. According to Marca, PSG has finally agreed to sell Kylian Mbappe. However, since the 24-year-old forward is determined not to play in Saudi Arabia and only wants Real Madrid as his destination, PSG had to compromise.

Mbappe’s agency will allow the player to move to Real Madrid, provided that “Los Blancos” pay €250 million. This is an enormous figure even for European football clubs and falls €50 million short of Al Hilal’s offer.

The valuation by PSG closely matches the information shared by Kylian Mbappe’s mother, Faiza Lamary, with Real Madrid’s leadership. If both parties agree on this price, Mbappe will break Neymar Junior’s transfer record from the summer of 2017.

This can be considered PSG’s final “privilege” for Mbappe, allowing the forward to move to his dream destination. However, the reported sum is believed to be beyond Real Madrid’s current financial capacity. This summer, the Bernabeu club has already spent €103 million to acquire Jude Bellingham, and it seems they are not left with much money.

Moreover, Real Madrid is not in a hurry. They are holding on, as they are keen on adding Mbappe to their Galacticos squad. Therefore, Real is willing to wait for the French player until next summer to sign him for free. The power struggle between PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi and Real Madrid president Florentino Perez promises to be intense.
