“Messi’s Near Ankle Sprain Incident During Training Raises Concern, but No Serious Issues for Inter Miami”
According to reports from American press outlets, Lionel Messi had a near ankle sprain incident during a training session leading up to the semi-finals of the Leagues Cup. However, Inter Miami fans can breathe a sigh of relief as the Argentine superstar quickly recovered and returned to training.
During the training session, Messi almost sprained his left ankle while passing the ball at close range. He had to tiptoe with his left foot for a brief moment before resuming the exercise. Despite the incident, both Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba seemed unfazed and were seen smiling, possibly indicating that the contact from Messi’s turn was not severe.
Thankfully, the injury doesn’t appear to be serious, and Messi is expected to be available for Inter Miami’s Leagues Cup semi-final match against Philadelphia at 6am on August 16.
Inter Miami coach Martino commented on the situation in a press conference, mentioning that he only witnessed part of the training session due to his press conference commitments. He expressed confidence that if the incident had been serious, there would have been more concern among the team. As everyone seemed fine, he believed that nothing significant had occurred.
