Liverpool on Alert: Alisson Becker Tempted by Move to Saudi Arabia
Liverpool’s number one goalkeeper, Alisson Becker, might find himself drawn to the allure of Arabian football as rumors circulate about a potential move to the Saudi Pro League, where a wave of European superstars has been making their mark.
According to Foot Mercato, Alisson Becker has shown interest in the prospect of playing in Arabia. Al Nassr, the club that boasts Cristiano Ronaldo, is reportedly eager to secure the Brazilian goalkeeper’s services.
It’s worth noting that Alisson’s contract with Liverpool runs until 2027. Prior to this, several stars from The Kop have bid farewell to Anfield to join the Saudi Pro League, including Roberto Firmino, Jordan Henderson, and Fabinho. Despite the apparent allure of the Arabian offers, insiders claim that Becker remains content at Liverpool, and there is no intention to part ways with the club’s premier goalkeeper.
Alisson stood out as Liverpool’s standout player in the previous season. Just this past Sunday, he once again highlighted his importance to The Kop with a series of world-class saves, securing a crucial point against Chelsea in the opening match of the 2023/24 Premier League season.
In a statement back in July, Alisson expressed a profound vision for the upcoming season, aiming to rectify the disappointments of the previous season that led to Europa League participation.
“We have a lot of dreams for the new season, fantastic goals, wonderful plans, but everything starts right now. So, with a lot of hard work ahead, that’s what we’re doing here,” Becker shared on Liverpool’s official website.
