A Journey into the Lyudmila’s Garden of Dreams
We will visit Lyudmila’s Garden, and everything you will see in the following photos is located in her yard, grown by her and cared for with her loving hands.
As they say, a fisherman can spot another fisherman from afar. That’s how I got acquainted with Lyudmila Romanova: through flowers. In our area, there are many people who are passionate about flowers, but only a few truly understand the different varieties, novelties, and intricacies involved. I was pleasantly surprised that I could speak with her in a language we both understood—the language of difficult-to-pronounce names of varieties and cultivar series, professional horticulture, and other aspects of cultivation and care.
So, let’s visit Lyudmila’s dream garden! We open the gate and… find ourselves in a kingdom of flowers. Cascades of petunias, majestic lilies, and elegant cedars greet us at the doorstep.
Immediately, you are immersed in an atmosphere of coziness and well-maintained beauty. Every detail has been carefully thought out, and everything is in its place.
The artificial pond harmoniously blends into the landscape. You wouldn’t even guess that it is a creation of human hands; it looks so natural.
By the way, this is not the only water feature in Lyudmila’s garden. Here is another one, equally beautiful.
Huge, snowy-white hydrangeas bloom with their magnificent clusters. There are many of them—a whole alley!
And this secluded, shady corner of the garden beckons you on a hot summer day.
If, on the other hand, you want to bask in the sun, here is a bench on the lawn, just for you.
In this corner, you can simply sit with a cup of coffee, relax under the carved shade of the trees, and breathe in the delicate scent of flowers.
While strolling through the garden, you can’t help but linger at the whimsical old tree stumps, inhabited by forest creatures.
And another picturesque tree stump blends so naturally into the landscape that it seems as if it has always been there. But no, Lyudmila shared the story of its appearance in her garden with laughter. It turns out that she and her husband were boating on the Don River and spotted a large log in the water. Can you imagine how heavy water-soaked wood is and how much effort it takes to pull it ashore? But Lyudmila convinced her husband to undertake this feat!
After the log, obtained through tremendous effort, dried on the shore, they brought it to the garden. Since then, it has started a new life.
And here is the well!
As you may have noticed, Lyudmila’s garden has a lot of petunias. She has been growing them for many years, and she has a great understanding of the varieties and the intricacies of their care. Dozens of pots with petunias of various shapes and vibrant colors adorn the entire yard (browse the gallery).
And here is the host herself:
Smart, beautiful, talented, a wonderful wife and mother. I never cease to admire her. She not only manages to take care of the garden but also sews and prepares exquisite desserts in her spare time!
It is true what they say: a talented person is talented in everything. But talent alone can easily go unnoticed. In the owner of this marvelous garden, talent and hard work complement each other perfectly.
Unfortunately, such beauty remains a dream for me. Our green
houses occupy half of our yard, endless construction and renovation projects, and the busy spring season prevent me from bringing even a part of this dream to life. But Lyudmila’s garden serves as an example of what I aspire to achieve.
A huge thank you to the host for the tour, the positive energy, the abundance of positive emotions, and the opportunity to share this beauty with you, my friends.
