Stylish and Functional: Exploring a Charming Swedish City Apartment

A Swedish city apartment with a perfect blend of aesthetics and functionality caught my attention yesterday. The tiles in the kitchen and hallway were particularly eye-catching, adding to the charm of this split-level apartment located on one of Gothenburg’s beloved streets dating back to the 1920s.

What impressed me the most was the thoughtful combination of practicality and beauty by the owners. The interior showcases mid-century furniture, iconic Scandinavian design elements, ample storage solutions, and an abundance of plants. Shall we begin the tour?

One aspect that caught my attention was the presence of climbing plants around the windows. This touch of greenery is especially delightful in urban environments or during the winter season.

Additionally, I found the use of curtains in the hallway to be a clever way to keep drafts at bay. They not only serve a practical purpose but also offer an opportunity to conceal an unattractive front door without the need for expensive replacements.

Upon closer inspection, one can notice several ingenious storage solutions in the hallway. These include a wall-mounted chest of drawers and a slim shoe cabinet from IKEA.

Furthermore, open storage options such as a low-mounted Vitra hang-it-all for children’s items and a coat rack by the door contribute to the overall functionality of the space.

All in all, this apartment is brimming with inspiring ideas. Did anything particularly stand out to you?
