Seeking Justice: The Harrowing Story of a Dog Doused in Gasoline and Set on Fire
Memphis, Tennessee – On June 20, an act of extreme cruelty occurred when a young dog was doused in gasoline and set on fire. Witnesses in the Nutbush area were horrified as they saw the dog running down the street, its entire body engulfed in flames.
Despite the unimaginable odds, the dog, known as Riona, miraculously survived the ordeal with her sweet nature still intact. Initially taken to Memphis Animal Services, Riona was then placed under the care of Tails of Hope Dog Rescue.
Riona suffered extensive burns, covering 60 percent of her body, and has been receiving treatment from the dedicated professionals at Bluff City Veterinary Specialists. As she continues to recover, people from around the world have been captivated by her story and have expressed their love and support for her.
There are two primary wishes shared by people across the globe for Riona: her complete physical and emotional recovery, and justice. It is imperative that the individual responsible for this heinous act be identified and brought to justice. A reward fund, which has now surpassed $16,000, has been established to aid in the search for the person(s) accountable.
We, the undersigned, hereby demand that Quishon Brown be subjected to the maximum penalties for the charges of Aggravated Animal Cruelty, Arson (in relation to the act of setting fire to personal property), and Simple Assault. These charges are a result of the intentional act of setting fire to Riona, the innocent dog. Furthermore, we insist that Brown be permanently prohibited from owning or residing with any animals.
It is important to acknowledge that individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Animal Victory places its trust in the authorities and the judicial system to determine guilt or innocence.
