The lionesses fight in the muddy swamp
The scene of two lionesses lunging at each other with their claws out is captured in the waterlogged plains of Antelope Park, Zimbabwe.
Photographer David Jenkins witnessed the spectacle of two lions playfully frolicking at sunset in Antelope Park, Zimbabwe.
They fiercely pounced, pushing their opponents into the midst of the reeds.
The lioness raised her claws and forcefully struck her brother’s head before collapsing onto his back to regain her strength.
Lions are typically a bit afraid of water. However, these two lions are exceptional cases. They enjoy water and feel more powerful with their bodies damp,” David shared.
“After the battle, the two exhausted lions collapsed, resting their heads on each other. They nuzzled and groomed each other’s fur before peacefully drifting off to sleep,” David said.
