4 Goalkeepers Waiting to Land at Man Utd: “MLS Spiderman”; Former Pupil of Ten Hag

Following Andre Onana, Stretty News has compiled a list of 4 goalkeepers with the highest likelihood of joining Old Trafford.

Altay Bayindir:

Recently, the media has linked the Turkish goalkeeper with Manchester United in a potential deal that could cost around £5 million. Similar to Andre Onana, Bayindir, who plays for Fenerbahce, is highly regarded for his impressive footwork and reflexes. He ranked third in the list of goalkeepers with the most clean sheets in the Turkish national league last season. Fenerbahce has already prepared for Bayindir’s potential departure by signing Croatian goalkeeper Dominik Livakovic. However, it won’t be easy for Man Utd to persuade Bayindir to move to Old Trafford and accept a backup role. Additionally, they face fierce competition from Ajax Amsterdam.

Zion Suzuki:

Suzuki is considered the most likely goalkeeper to arrive at Old Trafford after Onana. According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, Man Utd has contacted the Japanese star for a potential transfer, and Suzuki is reportedly ready to make the move. However, Urawa Reds, Suzuki’s current club, is not willing to part ways with him at this time, and they may only be persuaded by a substantial offer. The club is said to demand £5 million for Suzuki’s services. Manchester United will need to carefully consider Suzuki’s case as he has never played in Europe, and his performances in the J-League are not overwhelmingly outstanding.

Djordje Petrovic:

Following New England Revolution’s sale of Matt Turner to Arsenal, Petrovic has excelled in filling his senior’s shoes. With excellent reflexes and shot-stopping abilities, Petrovic has become one of the best goalkeepers in Major League Soccer, leading the league in saves per 90 minutes and boasting an 80.6% save success rate. However, bringing Petrovic to Old Trafford is expected to face numerous obstacles. The ongoing MLS season means New England will not easily allow Petrovic to leave. Recent reports suggest that they have rejected two offers worth around £8 million from Nottingham Forest and FC Nantes. Additionally, Man Utd will have to persuade Petrovic since he may not be content with a backup role at Old Trafford and other top European clubs are also interested in him.

David Jensen:

Finally, there’s the case of Jensen, a former pupil of Ten Hag at FC Utrecht. Currently at Istanbulspor, Jensen’s contract has only one year remaining, meaning Man Utd wouldn’t have to spend too much to acquire him. Despite this, Jensen is still considered a quality goalkeeper, with 7 clean sheets in the Turkish national league last season and ranking second in the number of saves per 90 minutes, with 3.8 saves per game.
