C. Ronaldo and Georgina Rodriguez Decline Granddaughter’s Baptism Invitation

Superstar Cristiano Ronaldo and his girlfriend Georgina Rodriguez have raised eyebrows by declining an invitation to attend the baptism of their granddaughter. The event, which was set to be held in their hometown of Madeira on August 27, has drawn attention due to their absence.

Ronaldo’s sister, Katia Aveiro, who was returning from Brazil, was organizing the baptism for her daughter Valentina. While other family members were expected to attend, both Ronaldo and Rodriguez decided not to make the trip. The Portuguese media reported that Ronaldo cited his professional commitments as a reason, as he was playing for Al Nassr in Saudi Arabia where the new season had already commenced.

The decision surprised and disappointed Ronaldo’s family, who had anticipated their presence. Hugo, Ronaldo’s brother, acknowledged the challenge of making such a journey, stating, “It’s a pity they didn’t make it in the end. He started playing in Saudi Arabia and we’re not close anymore. Even with a private jet, it’s not easy for him to come back in those days,” in an interview with Diario da Madeira.

The relationship between Ronaldo and his family has evolved over time, with noticeable changes in their public interactions. In recent years, Ronaldo has shared fewer pictures with his mother and siblings on social media. The family’s return to Portugal for a summer vacation also lacked the customary photos taken with Ronaldo’s mother, sisters, and brother.

Despite their absence from the baptism event, Georgina Rodriguez took to social media to celebrate Ronaldo’s recent achievements. On August 12, Ronaldo secured victory in a tournament, marking his first win in two years. He played a pivotal role by scoring a brace in Al Nassr’s triumph over Al Hilal in the Arab Club Champions Cup final, making him the tournament’s top scorer. Rodriguez posted a family photo from Saudi Arabia on her personal page to commemorate Ronaldo’s accomplishment.
