Criticizing Lavia, Neville Recommends Suitable Signature for Liverpool

Former defender Gary Neville has made comments on Liverpool’s transfer situation through “The Overlap” program.

Liverpool is gearing up for a crucial encounter against Chelsea in the first round of the Premier League with questions about their squad depth. They have bid farewell to two experienced players, Fabinho and Jordan Henderson, in the summer transfer window.

As a result, Jurgen Klopp has limited options for the midfield. Therefore, they are compelled to reinforce their squad with Southampton’s Romeo Lavia, who is considered a top target. However, according to former football star Gary Neville, the ex-Manchester City midfielder is not the right fit for The Kop.

Gary Neville suggests Liverpool sign Moises Caicedo.

Sharing his thoughts on “The Overlap,” as reported by The Mirror, Gary Neville stated: “They should have gone for Caicedo even if he’s £100 million. But they didn’t. Instead, they focused on the £40 million signing of Romeo Lavia from Southampton.

Don’t get me wrong, Lavia is a good player, but he’s not the type of player Liverpool needs. Jurgen Klopp needs a higher-quality signing.”
