Denied Stay at Man Utd, Wout Weghorst Finds New Destination
Wout Weghorst couldn’t secure his stay at Manchester United and has now found a temporary deal by returning to Burnley.
Wout Weghorst left Burnley to join Bundesliga side Hoffenheim on loan after spending the latter half of the previous season at Manchester United.
The forward returned to Turf Moor this summer after spells with Besiktas and M.U. He only managed to score 2 goals while wearing the Red Devils jersey. Consequently, Manchester United decided not to make his transfer permanent, and Weghorst was also not in Vincent Kompany’s plans. Instead, he’s returning to the Bundesliga, joining Hoffenheim on loan.
Weghorst continues his loan journey with Burnley.
Weghorst said, “I’ve had some options and have thought a lot about my future over the past few weeks. Those responsible at Hoffenheim have put a lot of effort into me and have valued me. The negotiations ended positively and the transition happened.”
“It really impressed me, and I feel very comfortable here right now. Now, I want to repay the trust they’ve placed in me on the field and do my part to make the season as successful as possible.”
