In a gripping incident, terrified tourists witnessed a lion feasting on the tires of their vehicle during a safari drive in Tanzania.

Captured in the Serengeti National Park, the pictures depict hungry lions gnawing at the truck’s wheels in an hour-long onslaught.

Holidaymakers can be seen huddled inside the vehicle as the lions wreaked havoc by destroying the tires and attempting to crack the enforced glass windows. The dramatic images were documented by safari tour guide Emmanuel Bayo from Arusha, Tanzania earlier this month.

Bayo recounted, “It was quite scary, really – the lions are very hungry in the park and hadn’t had a kill for a while. The truck was driving past with people inside, and the lions smelled the humans.”

The lions persisted in trying to breach the vehicle for about an hour, causing extensive damage. They destroyed the wheels and even attempted to break the windows, despite the presence of enforced glass designed to prevent such incidents.

The tour guide speculated that the lions might have attacked the truck due to their hunger and lack of recent kills.

The engagement showcases the raw and untamed nature of wildlife encounters, underscoring the need for precautions and respect when observing animals in their natural habitat.
