Liverpool Unfazed by Passing on Mason Mount: Neil Jone
In a conversation with Caughtoffside, former player Neil Jones suggests that Liverpool has no regrets about their decision to forgo pursuing Mason Mount. From Neil Jones’ perspective, Mason Mount is indeed having a slow start wearing the Manchester United jersey. Therefore, Liverpool has no reason to lament not pursuing the English midfielder.
However, Jones acknowledges that Mount could potentially progress under the guidance of coach Erik Ten Hag. The former player of The Kop shared:
“Considering Mount’s slow start at Manchester United and Dominik Szoboszlai’s impact at Liverpool so far, I believe it’s safe to say that The Kop won’t rue the decision to not go all out to recruit the English international. Nevertheless, I wouldn’t be surprised at all to witness Mount’s advancement at Man United under Erik ten Hag. It’s still quite early, and he’s a very talented player. This isn’t a matter Liverpool needs to dwell on too much at the moment. They already have Mac Allister and Szoboszlai!”
It can be said that pressure on Mount has significantly increased as he’s now dealing with an injury and will be sidelined at least until the end of September.
